Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How can I help?

A: There are many ways to help our organization, such as: donating, fostering, sharing our website and social media posts. We offer some volunteer opportunities when we are participating in adoption events or working to social dogs.

Q: Do you have a facility where I can visit the dogs?

A: As a volunteer-run and foster-based rescue, we do not have a central kennel facility and, therefore, do not offer public visitation hours for the dogs we are helping. Interested adopters may fill out an adoption application to schedule a meet and greet with our adoptable dogs.

Q: Can Bark It Up help me find an adoptable dog?

A: The B Bridge connects existing pet owners who need to re-home their beloved pets with interested dog lovers seeking to rescue a dog in need. Our goal is to help pet families responsibly re-home with minimal disruption to the dogs (private home to private home transfer). We also maintain a Rescue Rolodex of interested adopters and the types of dogs they are seeking so we can inform them of available matching dogs in other rescues and shelters.

Q: Are my donations tax deductible?

A: Yes. Bark It Up Inc. is a registered 501c3 charitable organization and your donation is tax deductible.

Q: How do I apply for the Healing Hearts or B Bridge program?

A: You may contact us through the "Contact Us" button. Please provide details of your situation including dog details.

Q: What volunteer opportunities do you have?

A: We always welcome qualified fosters who can provide temporary home care to a dog in need. We also have some volunteer opportunities for dog walking and basic social interaction activities with dogs.
